Developers from the independent studio Chute Apps, which released a construction sandbox in January Sandbox Skyline, presented his next project – the old-school strategy Repterra with greetings from the 90s.
At first glance, Repterra seems to be a distant relative of the classic Command & Conquer: the same pixel graphics, the familiar isometric perspective, collecting resources, building a base, units faithfully following orders.
But then a low growl is heard, and the water in the cup begins to tremble – the player’s base is attacked by hordes of dinosaurs. The first C&C also had prehistoric reptiles – a secret mini-campaign with them was added in The Covert Operations set.
Repterra is positioned as a survival game with building a base on an Earth overrun by dinosaurs. Gamers will have to conquer the planet and stop the proliferation of monsters.
In the process of developing their colony, Repterra players will fight off huge (up to 100 thousand units) hordes of dinosaurs. You will be able to do this within both the story campaign (with the research of new technologies) and the survival mode.
The developers promise the charm of 90s strategies, dozens of different units and buildings, smooth 60 fps, support for achievements and Steam cloud saves. Russian language is not declared.
Repterra will be released in the first quarter of 2025 in Steam — you can sign up to volunteer for future “betas” via Chute Apps website. At the same time, the studio is developing an evacuation roguelike Extraction 1943 and card roguelike Infest.
