The National Theater in tears because of “Hush” – 2024-03-08 15:25:30

/ world today news/ The 200th consecutive performance of the play “Hushes” at the “Ivan Vazov” National Theater turned into a real storm of emotions, reported a BGNES reporter.

At the end of the performance, at the bow, when the crowded hall sang together with the actors the song from the performance, there were tears in the eyes of those who were on the stage and those who were against it. Everyone in one voice repeatedly said “Each of us has his own star that guides him where he is alive, when it shines brightly – a person has life, when it goes out – fate”. They were thinking about the one who didn’t take the stage tonight. The applause tonight was primarily for someone else, and everyone perhaps secretly hoped that someone else was looking down and smiling.

The anniversary performance of director Alexander Morfov’s unique spectacle was dedicated to Petar Popyordanov-Chocho, who left us on Easter. And tonight there were flowers, and the first basket was brought on stage by none other than Daniela, the woman who was by Chocho’s side until his last breath. There were flowers for the actors, the director and the audience, but in reality today the flowers were for Chocho, whose talent will never be forgotten. And after more than 10 minutes of applause, the last thing the audience heard before leaving the hall was “Long live Bulgaria!” a loud and powerful shout that rang out from behind a red curtain that had already been lowered.

In 1904, the performances of the National Theater began with the play “Hushov”. In 1954, “Hushov” celebrated its 50th anniversary. In 2004, in the jubilee 100th season of the “Hushov” theater, he was again on stage with the performance of Alexander Morfov.

“…We wanted the hashes to be shown in all their dimensions – positive and negative, insignificant and great, not to have a single-minded behavior. In every single situation, they are both villains and heroes at the same time. It is very difficult to choose who survives – you or your friend. It’s a deeply tragic choice. It’s not a clash of individual characters, it’s a clash between man and fate. After all, “Hushes” is a story about man’s struggle against fate,” says director Alexander Morfov on the occasion the jubilee spectacle. /BGNES
