The Minister of Public Works, Romeo Rodríguez, together with the Vice Minister of Transportation, Nelson Reyes, announced that the institution will implement an anti-corruption policy, in which the population will be able to report, anonymously, any case of this type on WhatsApp: 2528 -3345.
“The objective is to comply with three main axes: that there is zero tolerance against acts of corruption and bribery; that all contracted personnel, within the aforementioned institutions (MOP, VMT and FOVIAL), have integrity; and that they fulfill the functions that each one has and the well-being of all Salvadorans is guaranteed,” said Minister Romeo Rodríguez.
Among the actions that the population can report are: bribes, requests for money in exchange for construction permits or procedures related to the Ministry of Public Works, contractors, subcontractors, national and international suppliers, among others.
“We call on companies to participate in a tender from the Ministry of Public Works regarding the certification of ISO anti-corruption standards, which will help us prevent cases of bribery from occurring in this Ministry,” mentioned Vice Minister Nelson Reyes.
Minister Rodríguez also highlighted that in Comprasal, the entire population can learn about the different contracting processes related to the MOPT that exist at this time.
