Mexican Actor Oscar Traven Passes Away at 75: ANDA Mourns the Loss

This afternoon and through its social networks, the National Association of Actors (ANDA) reported the unfortunate death of one of Televisa’s most prominent actors, Oscar Traven, at 75 years of age.

Through a heartfelt message, ANDA expressed its solidarity with the family and those close to the actor, who left a legacy of more than 40 years of experience in Mexican television and film.

“The National Association of Actors deeply regrets the death of our colleague Oscar Antúnez Baza, known as “Oscar Traven”. Our condolences to his family, friends and relatives. May he rest in peace,” they wrote.

The causes of Traven’s death are currently unknown.

His face was one of the best known to the Mexican public, and throughout his career on Televisa, he participated in more than 35 melodramas, including: “Reach for a Star”, “The Flight of the Eagle”, ” the burning torch”, “Small town, big hell”, “Girls like you”, “Friends forever”, “Carita de angel” and “La fea más bella”, where he played the businessman Ricky Armstrong.

Traven studied acting at the Andrés Soler Theater Academy, and began his acting career at the age of 25 in the 1978 film, “The Resource of the Method.”

Later he entered the Televisa Artistic Training Center (now CEA). Her first appearance on television was in 1982 in the melodrama “What heaven does not forgive”, where she shared credits with Blanca Guerra, Merle Uribe and Arlette Pacheco.

He defined himself as an “actor, piano lover, soul architect,” according to his X profile, where he has remained inactive since 2017.
