The pianist Ernesto Cisneros Cino, known for being the arranger and musical producer of the official group Buena Fe, gave a huge surprise this Sunday, announcing his move, to none other than Miami, Florida, in the United States.
The member and keyboardist of the group, known for his continuous defense and cover-up of the Cuban dictatorship, seems to have not been able to take any more of the lifestyle that the government he defends is capable of giving him, and announced his escape to lands of freedom.
Through his Facebook profile, Cisneros issued a very brief message, in which he only announced his departure to the ‘City of the Sun’, without giving further explanations.
In his post, all the comments were positive, some from people already in Miami welcoming him and telling him “you finally got out of there”, showing that they are aware of the situation in Cuba.
The situation has immediately caught the attention of the Cuban public on Facebook, and basically marks the end of the musical group, since now Israel Rojas, the vocalist and leader of Buena Fe, would be the only member who remains on the Island.
Last year, Rojas expressed his regret for the loss of several members of the group in the midst of the Cuban immigration crisis, although on this occasion he has not commented on Cisneros’ departure.
The truth is that Buena Fe had already faced several accusations of “double standards” and of not being exactly faithful to the anti-capitalist ideals of Castroism.
And every time they had the opportunity, with their presentations abroad, they were seen buying in large chain stores, and eating in restaurants also from large commercial chains that cannot enter Cuba.
Despite this, the group has become infamous for its exacerbated defense of Castroism, denying repression or even justifying it, and collaborating with the promotion of the Island as a tourist destination, ignoring all its needs and talking about it as a true paradise.
The departure of Cisneros, who was part of the group since 2002, and who announced his departure from the group on February 14, marks the end of Buena Fe, after more than 30 years of musical career.
