The Last of Us series produced by HBO has been a huge success, and this year, Amazon Prime is looking to replicate that success with its own adaptation of the video game Fallout. The first trailer shows promise, capturing the original’s atmosphere with its setting and visuals.
Similar to the original game, the series aims for a distinct stylization and lightness, which is somewhat paradoxical given the post-apocalyptic setting of a world ravaged by nuclear war. One of the main characters is the naive Lucy (Ella Purnell), who has spent her entire life in a shelter. However, she will have to leave the safety of Vault 33 and embark on a rescue mission. According to the co-creator of the series, Jonathan Nolan, she will face a harsh confrontation with reality.
The series also involves Todd Howard from Bethesda in its development, which means that its events will become part of the official canon and may be referenced in future installments of the series. However, the official production of the series has not been confirmed yet.
