The Russian Civic Council, founded in November 2022, actively recruits members for the armed resistance movement and advocates significant political reforms in Russia.

Initially, the association recruited soldiers for the Russian Volunteer Corps, which was integrated into the national units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Recently, however, attention has been paid to the creation of a new unit – the Siberian battalion, Polish Radio reported on Wednesday.
Many of the battalion’s volunteers are representatives of oppressed minorities in Russia – Buryats, Yakuts and other ethnic groups.
Ethnic minorities from Russia, including oppressed nations like the Yakuts and Buryats, are joining Ukraine’s fight against 🇷🇺 aggression in a distinct unit – the Sibir (Siberia) battalion.

“So far, 60 people have applied,” Tatiana Kosinova, secretary of the Russian Civic Council, revealed to Polish Radio.
“Not everyone is fighting now, because they signed up at different times. Those who signed up in the last few days have not yet undergone military training. They have a lot to learn. Those who were drafted into the Siberian battalion last September and earlier are fighting at the front,” revealed Kosinova.
Kosinova calls on Russian emigrants to support Ukraine not only with words, but also with deeds. She emphasized that peaceful protests alone will not be enough to overthrow Putin’s regime.
“Vladimir Putin’s regime will not be overthrown with peaceful protests, but only with weapons in hand,” Kosinova believes.
