Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Believes Manchester United Made Mistake Signing Cristiano Ronaldo

Former Manchester United mentor Ole Gunnar Sulsher believes the club’s decision to sign Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo was a mistake.

“At United I was asked: ‘Do you want us to try and sign Ronaldo? I said: ‘Yes, we know Cristiano is a good footballer, he is 37 years old, but we have to do it – he is the one best strikers in the world. In the end it didn’t work out for me or Cristiano, but it was the right decision at the time.

We were one of the teams under the most pressure before we formalized Ronaldo’s transfer. Apart from that, the club released Dan James when Cristiano joined us. “It seemed like the right decision, but in the end it was the wrong one,” Sulsher was quoted as saying by the Manchester Evening News.
