The former assemblyman of the Social Christian Party, Pablo Muenteswas arrested early this Monday, March 4, after his home in Samborondón was raided by the Prosecutor’s Office, in an operation that has been called “Purge” and that derives from the Metastasis Case.
His wife and nine judges have also been arrested: Johan Marfetan Medina, Reinaldo Cevallos Cercado, Henry Taylor Teran, Alberto Lino Tumbaco, Guillermo Valarezo Cuello, Nelson Ponce Murillo y Fabiola Gallardo Ramiawho were captured in 20 raids carried out since 03:00 in the morning in Guayaquil and Samborondón in operations that included helicopter and drone overflights.
Fabiola Gallardo Ramia was a name that sounded like a replacement for Attorney General Diana Salazar in an eventual dismissal.
Mercedes Villarreal Verathe current provincial director of Disciplinary Control of Guayas, and Saúl Mero Zambranoan administrative official of the same institution, are also among those detained.
Fausto Alarcón Gómezanother of those detained, is a cousin of Pablo Muentes.
The El Universo site reports that the home and office of the current president of the Court of Justice of Guayas, Hugo González, were also raided this morning. The Prosecutor’s Office did not report his arrest.
