A resident of Kobrin district, under the pretext of repairs, sold the cars of two people, reports Internal Affairs Directorate of the Brest Regional Executive Committee. A 32-year-old local resident contacted the police after losing her Audi A6 car. According to the woman, she gave the car for repair to a 25-year-old villager, whose services she had used before. The bumper needed to be replaced. The car owner paid 305 rubles for the new part. Later, the young man stopped communicating.
Law enforcement officers found out that the man installed the bumper, but decided to deceive the owner and sell her car. “The defendant found a buyer and offered to complete the transaction without the participation of the owner of the car. Arguing this by saying that everything has been agreed and the owner is ready to come over at any time to re-register. The buyer agreed and gave the young man about 7.2 thousand rubles. After receiving the money, the defendant disappeared. The victim tried to find him, but the search was unsuccessful,” the police department said.
A 37-year-old resident of the Kobrin district found himself in the same situation. He gave a Volkswagen Venta car for repair. When he wanted to pick up the finished car, the villager came up with various excuses. Two weeks later, the car owner realized that he was being deceived and wrote a statement to the police. As it turned out, the master sold the foreign car, earning almost 2 thousand rubles for it.
The young man was detained at his friend’s home. He told law enforcement officers that he spent the money to pay off debts and personal needs. The damage has been compensated. Investigators opened a criminal case for fraud.
