Eurovision 2022: Joost Klein’s ‘Europapa’ Breaks Streaming Records

Spotify’s public figures previously showed that the song had been streamed 1.2 million times, but it could not yet be confirmed that this was a record. “These are just numbers, but I am very grateful,” Klein responds in his Instagram Stories. The record for this was held by a well-known Dutch Eurovision winner, namely Duncan Laurence. His winning song ‘Arcade’ reached more than 1 million streams the day after his 2019 win.

‘Europapa’, which was released last Thursday, has been streamed more than 6.5 million times to date. The song is best listened to in the Netherlands and Germany, a spokesperson said. This is followed by Belgium, Poland and Austria. The Eurovision Song Contest will take place from May 7 to 11 in Malmö, Sweden. Joost Klein will be in action in the second semi-final, just like the Belgian entry Mustii.
