The platforms, members of the Meta conglomerate, experienced massive interruptions during the morning of this Tuesday. According to several users, they closed the Internet users’ open sessions, requesting that they reset their passwords.
However, when they entered their credentials, the platform told them that the password was wrong, so many tried to change it. The problem continued after this, because despite changing the password, the pages indicated that an error had occurred, so I could not log in.
As usually happens in these cases, Internet users took to Twitter to confirm if it was a general failure or if the problem affected only them. In this way, it was possible to verify that the fall was experienced by users from Mexico, India, Germany, the United States and even Cuba.

According to the Downdetector platform, which is dedicated to recording failures on social networks, the problem lasted just under an hour, but during that time more than 350 thousand failure reports were made.
It is important to remember that Facebook had about 3,049 million users at the end of 2023, marking a growth of 3.07% compared to the previous year. For its part, Instagram has about 2 billion users, and the recently created Threads has about 150 million. In that sense, the global impact caused problems for more than 5 billion accounts around the globe.
At the moment, Meta has not commented on the matter through any of the social networks on its platforms, so it is unknown the reasons why this massive drop in its services was experienced or if this failure could be repeated again.
For now, Facebook services have returned to work, although there are users who maintain that the page is working slower than usual.
