Opinion: Why It’s Still Too Early for a Pokémon Black and White Remake – Release Date Speculation

Some followers are already speculating about the return of the fifth generation, although this should still take some time to occur.

The recent Pokémon Presents announced to us what will be the next game in the main pocket monsters saga: “Pokémon Legends: ZA“. This anouncement it surprised the fans quite a bit, more for being located in Kalos than for being a Legends. And many followers were expecting a remake of the fifth generation, return to Unova with “Pokémon Black and White”.

Today, I come to talk to you precisely about this remake, but it is not good news for those who wish to play this hypothetical title of Pokémon. I’m going to tell you why, in my opinion, It’s still too early for the new “Pokémon Black and White” to arrive. I’ll explain everything to you right now.

Release schedule for Pokémon remakes

These are the dates on which the revised versions of the main saga reached us:

  • Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen (1st gen): 2004. 🗓
  • Pokémon Oro HeartGold y Plata SoulSilver (2nd generation): 2009 (2010 in the West). 🗓
  • Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire (3rd generation): 2014. 🗓
  • Pokémon Shiny Diamond and Shimmering Pearl (4th generation): 2021. 🗓

What will we see before? A remake of Unova or a Pokémon Legends: Kyurem?

Why is it too early for the Pokémon Black and White remake?

This is my opinion on it:

  • As you can see, Pokémon has always released its remakes quite spaced apart. All They have been separated for 5 yearstime that increased up to 7 years in the last of them. ✅
  • Therefore, I think that It is impossible for this minimum window of 5 years to be shortened, and even more so when a sub-saga like “Pokémon Legends” has emerged, which seems to have come to stay for quite some time. ❗️
  • Everything seems to indicate that after “Pokémon Legends: ZA” it will be the turn to pass a couple of years busy with the tenth generation (year of game + year of DLC). ❓
  • It’s more, nothing guarantees us that, whenever the next remake arrives, be one of “Black and White”. It also seems quite likely that it is a re-make of “Oro y Plata”. 🤔
  • For all this, I think it is VERY early to order this remake of “Pokémon Black and White”. I see what is going to happen like with the fourth generation, who spent years saying that Sinnoh confirmed. ✅
  • Not for you, but for me the only thing this kind of mantra achieved was make the wait longer and heavier. 😭

It seems that there may still be enough left to go through Unova again

So… when will the Pokémon Black and White remake come out?

These are my theories about its release date:

  • Personally, I think the 10th generation will be out in 2026 (to celebrate 30 years of the IP). If Game Freak maintains its course of action, 2027 will be the year of DLC. This means that the remake of “Pokémon Black and White” will be released in 2028 at the earliest. ✅
  • If the remake does not come out in this window between the 10th and 11th generation, we are talking about would already go to the 2030s. 😱
  • Of course, there is also the option that Game Freak change your way of doing things and that the remake come out sooner than it seems to me. ❓

And here comes this article in which I tell you why it’s still too early for a remake of “Pokémon Black and White”. What do you think of my opinion? Do you agree with me? Or do you have another theory? I invite you to leave me your impressions in the comments so we can talk about them. I read you!

Before finishing, I invite you to read the article which I leave you linked a couple of paragraphs above. In it, I talk about maybe Game Freak changes its release schedule somewhat after the problems that Scarlet and Purple had. This, in a way, may be related to the release of the remakes of “Pokémon Black and White”.
