In an exciting match corresponding to the 2024 Apertura Tournament Copa Tigo Sports of the Major Women’s Basketball League, Batanecas de San Sebastián made its debut in the tournament with a resounding victory over Santa Tecla 52-43.

Cuban Rachel Contreras emerged as the top scorer and outstanding figure of the game for Batanecas, accumulating impressive statistics of 27 points, 19 rebounds, 5 blocks and one assist. Niky Orantes also contributed significantly to the team with 11 points.
On the Santa Tecla side, Mónica Aristondo led her team with 13 points, showing determination despite the defeat.
