″High-ranking officials of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, fooling around with pseudo-governmental scholars, have misled the public and manipulated public opinion into thinking that increasing the number of students in Korea’s medical schools is the only solution to this whole situation.″
Chairman Joo also criticized, “The government is misleading public opinion as if increasing the number of medical school students is the only solution to all situations.”
He said, “The government must break its stubbornness so that doctors can come to the forum for dialogue.”
Previously, on the 27th of last month, the Ministry of Health and Welfare filed charges against five current and former executives of the Medical Association, including Chairman Joo, on charges of violation of medical law, obstruction of business, and aiding and abetting.
Accordingly, the police, who began the investigation, reportedly conducted a search and seizure of these people on the 1st and secured meeting minutes and guidelines related to group action.
Former President of the Korean Medical Association Noh Hwan-gyu will be summoned for questioning on the 9th, and on the 12th, Kim Taek-woo, emergency committee chairman of the Korean Medical Association, and Park Myeong-ha, emergency committee organizing committee chairman, will be summoned to investigate, and Lim Hyun-taek, president of the Korean Association of Pediatrics, is said to be coordinating the schedule.
This has been reported so far from the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s Public Crime Investigation Unit.
