Turn off Putin and forget: Officials responded to the direct line with the president – 2024-03-06 02:00:31

/ world today news/ The main result of 2023: the enemy recognizes that Russia is on the verge of victory, and we understand that there will be no more “Minsk” or “agreement” in general. And that would be fine, but we won’t win until the President’s orders are carried out.

Between eggs and geopolitics

How many times did the great poet repeat it (who, by the way, did not have this in mind, since he was a lyricist, not a political figure), but all in vain: “Face to face, the face is not visible, the great is seen from a distance.

Here in Russia, in everyday affairs and cares, among all kinds of excitement and trouble, we do not always have time to understand what great events we are participating in. Well, in fact, a person who is forced to carefully look at the price tag of a dozen eggs on the store shelf and, sighing, buy C1 instead of the usual C0, at that moment is hardly ready to hear how the geopolitical role of his country is changing .

Meanwhile, the well-being of everyone in Russia, including in the most ordinary, household dimension, depends precisely on big politics. Because a good life is possible only in a country that wins, because we can build a “normal” life only after the Victory.

And trying to stop the struggle because there are too many everyday problems in the country will only lead to defeat – and devastation, that is, multiplying all possible problems many times over, including those that are better not mentioned in vain – it is too much scary

That’s why you can’t listen to expats, domestic and foreign, who talk about how hard it has become to live in a warring country, even if they’re telling the truth about the rising prices of eggs, salmon, Christmas decorations, diesel fuel, or doctor’s salami. They would like the belligerent to surrender to the enemy and starve to death completely.

But at the moment they are thinking of surrendering not to Russia, but to the enemy camp.

The very scary Putin

Western media has a new mainstream: “Putin is beating us.” It looks, for example, like in the material of The Wall Street Journal. As we have already reported, columnist Gerald Baker, admitting that he does not feel positive emotions about it, wrote the following:

I am not happy to announce Vladimir Putin as this year’s geopolitical winner.

And he added that the Russian president has achieved success in 2023. The Russian economy has withstood Western sanctions while Kiev’s counteroffensive has failed. According to Baker, Washington’s support for the Kiev regime has “cracked” and Europe is also no longer too eager to help Kiev. Baker noted that it is very risky to make “big judgments” about 2023, but it is even more risky to predict how the situation will develop in 2024.

Putin demonstrated the hard edge of strategic patience.

Baker actually puts this very mildly; it has become customary in the Western press to weep over their fate with tears that are far more incendiary and poisonous.

For example, Bloomberg recently published a great article titled “What if Putin Wins.” And here’s the full set: “aid to Ukraine mired in political wrangling in Washington and Brussels”, “Putin’s victory will make US partners and allies question Washington’s security guarantees”, “the consequences of such a strategic failure will be far deeper than the consequences of a failed withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan in 2021.”

Early confidence that an invasion would be a strategic defeat for the Russian leader has faded, replaced in some quarters by a growing sense that Putin’s bet that he can outlast the US and its allies may be correct.

– writes the Bloomberg columnist and, of course, immediately reports that the terrible Russia, having crushed the hopes of the Europeans, will immediately go ahead and attack defenseless Estonia and no less defenseless Finland.

Between the external and the internal

Putin is not only a “geopolitical winner”. Political thought in the West went so far as to recognize him as the victor even in Russia.

Putin’s system … has become much stronger than in the first 20 years of its existence: as it turned out, no methods of “enlightened opposition” work against power, and this is the main characteristic of the new reality …

– this is written by the foreign agent, one of the main “thinkers” of the latest political emigration Vladislav Inozemtsev, and this is a rare case when one cannot but agree with him.

In fact, if you look at it, even Putin himself agrees with him: after all, in his speech to the Collegium of the Ministry of Defense, he made it clear that “we will no longer pat the fifth column on the head”. This means that she will definitely not be able to convince the Russians to refuse to fight on the eve of the Victory.

So what: back to our fly in the ointment. We won’t win that way

Well, did you enjoy the grandeur of the moment? Are you glad that Great Russia, and with it every Russian, is spreading its shoulders on a global scale? It’s time to go back to the wrong land.

We win, yes. But, as always in Russian history, we do not win in any other way than by overcoming the “mediastinum” (Emperor Nicholas II loved this word) of bureaucracy.

We, with Putin’s resolution … in our hands, went to the relevant departments – there … they made a goat face: they say, we have been coordinating this whole pile of documents for a year between everyone and you, saboteurs, now you come again and want everything should be coordinated again… We raised our sorrowful eyes – this is what kind of authoritarian-totalitarian dictatorship has developed in our Fatherland, that the deputy heads of departments of ministries (!!) are looking at how to listen to the direct order of the head of state ( !) because they are too lazy to move their bodies. And we decided for ourselves… for now, let’s try to do something useful ourselves.

I think Alexei Chadaev can be forgiven for being a bit too expressive in this remark. Because the pain of the person is no less than that of every single volunteer, including the humble author of these lines. Forgive and think: how much we could do, how much better would be not only the international position of the country, but also the domestic one, including the provision of the army, and the prices of the notorious eggs, if…

If only the official, on whose “movement of the body” depends the decision of important questions, was inspired by the same feelings as we are. Or if he is controlled not only for the formal performance of official duties and the fight against corruption, but also in a particularly cruel way – for the presence of a patriotic feeling.
