FCL Fan Association Withdraws from Round Table Football Due to Lucerne Government’s Support of Collective Punishments

A week ago, the new Lucerne security director, Ylfete Fanaj, presented her new “Round Table Football”. Now the FCL Fan Association (USL) is already turning its back.

Here is the announcement from the USL:

Since last early summer, collective punishments have been imposed on fan groups following “serious events” at football games. The politicians involved decide at their whim what falls into this category and what consequences a “serious event” entails. Because this has not been specified anywhere. The collective punishments introduced overnight by a hand-picked group of hardliners lead to a more unpredictable situation for everyone and higher security costs. In addition, this strengthens extreme positions, makes fact-based arguments impossible and weakens dialogue.

The USL was unable to see anything positive from these collective penalties from the start. In the belief that the newly elected Lucerne government councilor deserved a fair chance, we continued to participate in the dialogue. Since last summer, however, we have made it clear on several occasions that we will not engage in dialogue with advocates of collective punishment.

Now the mask has fallen: Last Monday, the justice and security director of the canton of Lucerne announced that she and her colleagues in the government council support and support the collective punishments, which the KKJPD has been propagating as a patent solution since last summer under the title “cascade model”. become.

In view of this positioning by the Lucerne government, the USL is withdrawing from the round table with immediate effect.
