Schuitmaker received the bronze statue, made by sculptor Pieter d’Hont, this evening in the AFAS Theater in Leusden. Later in the evening, the brand new Edison winner was a guest on the talk show Humberto to talk about, among other things, the creation of the hit with which he had his breakthrough: Guardian Angel.

In addition to Schuitmaker, two more people from Drenthe were nominated for an Edison: Hannah Mae (Best Newcomer) from Weerdinge and Paul de Munnik (Dutch-speaking), who currently lives in Meppel. They did not win any prizes tonight.

The most important prizes for best album and best single went to Sef respectively (I Could Die For Much But Not For A Flag) in Its Best (Tonight). Last week Jan Smit won the Edison Oeuvre Prize.
