Two exciting games were played this Sunday at the opening of the Third Softball Championship Tournament “Copa Andrés Galarraga”, where Chamo Burger won against Atlético in the opening game, which took place on the Santa Julia 1398 field, next to of the San Miguel de Rancagua Mill.
At the inauguration of this championship, in the 3/4 modality in its third edition, seven teams paraded, who will be competing in the Cup that bears the name of Andrés Galarraga, former Venezuelan baseball player, who stood out both in Venezuela and in the big leagues. . The little ones from the Minor Baseball School also walked around the playing field, receiving applause from the audience.
The Santa Julia field became a sports and family festival, hosting both the teams and the large number of people who enjoyed, not only the ball games, but also music, dancing, gastronomy and entertainment. for children, which has had the support of the Mineros de Rancagua Softball organization and the Rancagua Anzola baseball academy.
Each team was accompanied by their little godmothers, who later, through a draw, little Yoselmar Rodríguez was the winner as queen of this tournament, who received the band and bouquet of flowers from the president of the Rancagua Softball and Baseball Sports Club. , Miguel Anzola.
The eight teams that will be competing in this championship during 2024 are: Chamo Burger, Atléticoes, Gigantes, 12 Discípulos, Yankees, Cerveceros and Machalí.

Chamo Burger won first
The first game was played, the Chamo Burger and Atlético teams, who under an inclement Rancagüino sun, measured themselves to give their best in this first inning, with a score of 11 runs to 8 in favor of the former. Leo Hernández had 2 runs scored, 2 RBIs and two hits; while Oswaldo Sánchez managed to drive in 4 runs and a hit. Anderson Zambrano also stood out by scoring a run and a hit; while Jhon Marcano recorded one hit and 2 RBIs and Oscar Antiquez, with one hit and one RBI.

“This is a very focused field and the idea is that we all come to share and play the sport that we like, like something small from Venezuela that we have here to share with the children, representatives and adults,” Anzola said.
