Former President Donald Trump faces next legal challenge after winning Colorado.
Monday 4 March at 22:32
– I have great respect for the Supreme Court. And I just want to thank them for working so quickly and painstakingly and wonderfully, the hopeful presidential candidate (77) told the press at his residence in Mar-a-Lago in Florida.
On Monday, a unanimous federal Which has to do with an association of states, in this case the United States, where power is divided between the national government and the states.supreme court, decided that Colorado’s highest court did not have the power to ban him from the ballots in the presidential election.
They found that power lies only with Congress.
That was not what Trump’s lawyers argued, but the victory was his nonetheless.
– While we’re on the subject, another thing that’s coming very soon will be immunity Protection from prosecution, which means you can’t be sued or punished for certain actions of presidents, Trump said further.

Donald Trump’s judicial marathon: – A master of bad news
The investigation by Special Investigator Smith is aimed at Trump’s attempt to change the election results in 2020.
The argument from the former president’s camp is that he is immune from the charges because he was president during the period in question
These are the cases against Trump:
Washington D.C.
- ACCUSED: Trump lied that it was he who won the 2020 presidential election, and in that way he obstructed American democracy, according to special investigator Jack Smith. He believes Trump provoked the violent storming of Congress on January 6, 2021.
- POSSIBLE PUNISHMENT: Trump is indicted on four counts. Some of the points in the indictment carry a penalty of up to 20 years.
Georgia
- ACCUSED: Trump is charged in a mega-case with 18 others for having entered into a criminal conspiracy to change the election results in the important state in 2020. Biden won Georgia with only 11,779 votes. In an audio recording, he asks the electoral officer in the state to find votes for him.
- POSSIBLE PUNISHMENT: Trump is indicted on 13 counts. The minimum sentence in this case is five years in prison, and up to 20 years. Trump cannot pardon himself here if he were to become president (as he can in federal cases).
- ACCUSED: Trump is indicted at state level in New York for having paid so-called hush money to porn actor Stormy Daniels. Trump is said to have used up to $250,000 of his election campaign budget in 2016 to pay her to keep quiet about the fact that they had sex. This is a violation of the Election Campaign Act.
- POSSIBLE PUNISHMENT: Trump is indicted on 34 different counts related to document forgery and accounting offences. He faces up to four years in prison.
Florida
- ACCUSED: Trump is indicted at the federal level for taking with him classified documents from the White House to his private residence in Mar a-Lago in Florida. This is considered a breach of the Espionage Act.
- POSSIBLE PUNISHMENT: Trump is indicted on 40 different counts. There is a penalty of up to ten years in prison for several of the points in the indictment.
– Big decisions
Trump told reporters at Mar-a-Lago on Monday that a former president should not have to have the four ongoing investigations and civil suits against him that he has. He believes that all cases are politically motivated.
– Presidents must be given complete immunity. They must be allowed to do their jobs, Trump said.
His claim, according to Reuters, appears to be that the immunity issue is about the presidency itself, not about him.

Among other things, Trump pointed to military operations he ordered during his time in the Oval Office, where targets were killed.
– And there are big decisions. I will not be prosecuted for them, he said.
– When you make a decision, you don’t want the opponent or the opposition or someone who thinks you are wrong to take you to court in one form or another when you step down as president, he believes.
