Celtic Castilla: Highest Scoring Team in First Regional Group 1 – Targeting Preferential Category

Juan Carlos MJ, March 4, 2024

It is the leader and is the highest scoring team in its First Regional group

It is the objective that Celtic Castilla has been pursuing for several seasons: to ascend to the Preferential category. In the last campaign he came fourth, just one point away from achieving promotion. But this one, 2023/24, can go down in the history of the club, as the one that achieved that dream.

At the moment, in Group 1 of the First Regional, Celtic is the leader with 48 points, after having played 23 games, in which they have achieved 14 victories, six draws and three defeats, being the highest scoring team in their group, with 58 goals in favor, and the second fewest goals scored, with 23. However, the table is very tight, since the second classified, Unión Adarve B, has 46 points, but has one game less, while the third classified, Electrocor Las Rozas A has 47 points, and the fourth, Cerceda A, has 42, so, with 11 games left until the end of the league, there is a lot left to play for.

In any case, there are a couple of days that are going to be key to determining Celtic’s future this season, the 27th and the 28th, when they will play in their Canal de Isabel II stadium against the first and third placed teams, respectively: On April 7, they will host Unión Adarve B, whom they beat at home by 1-2, and a week later, on the 14th, against Electrocor Las Rozas A, with whom they lost in the first leg by 2-1. Furthermore, on March 24, on matchday 26, their direct rivals will face each other, in an exciting Unín Adarve B against Electrocor Las Rozas A.

Support from the fans

For those two very important home games in a row, the president of Celtic Castilla, Rafael Romero, appeals to the fans, “although it is almost not necessary, because people flock to the field in droves, they know that we are playing for the league, now “They are our main competitors.”

The team’s coach, Javier Romero, shares the same opinion, stating that “they are two key matches and the entire club is supporting us, both at home and away. We have the support of all the Celtic teams that play in the different categories. “We have never been in Preferente, but this year the feelings are very positive.”

However, and as the master comments, “the team breathes enthusiasm, there is a great atmosphere in the locker room, we enjoy every training session, every game, the injuries are respecting us, we have a goal, and we have made a leap of quality with signings that have reinforced the midfield and the forward line but it is forbidden to talk about Preferential”, although, he adds that if we achieve promotion “we are going to celebrate it in style and enjoy it as it deserves.”

The last day will be played on June 2. Celtic will receive Santa Ana in their field, now fifth with 38 points, a team with which they tied last season at home on the penultimate matchday and which deprived Celtic of depending on themselves to go up to Preferential. “Let’s hope that in that match we will already have guaranteed promotion and the match will be a party for our fans, the team and the entire club,” says Javier Romera, who has already spent six seasons as coach of the first team, which he took in the Third Regional and which can now take you to the highest category you have ever been in: Preferred. The target is closer.
