The fair became hostage to an ugly political game /VIDEO/ – 2024-03-04 14:53:05

/ world today news/ I am waiting for the Municipal Council to send a representative of Plovdiv to the board of the Fair. I’ll vote for this with both hands. It would be nice if it was one of the most flamboyant ladies who have brought the Fair into an ugly political game and are using it in pursuit of personal goals. This challenge to the politicians and the rulers in Plovdiv was made by the businessman Georgi Gergov, who is a guest on “Maritsa Podcast”.

“The fair is here, and I will not take it to the graveyard. It was saved for Plovdiv back in 2006 with the efforts of the then mayor Ivan Chomakov, the municipal councilors and with my support. I don’t know why there is all this circus with Varna shares. The Fair is invested and developed, but lately my fellow shareholders have been trying their best to destroy its image”, commented Gergov.

“They satanized me, and now they are doing the same with the Fair, and this is a great sin against the city and the people of Plovdiv. I invest in both the Fair and the Old Town. However, what are the politicians doing for Plovdiv? Today’s “saviors” of the Fair and a chicken coop have not done much for our city, and now they are turning one of the emblems of Plovdiv into political chewing gum. This is an outrage,” said Gergov.

The businessman claims that he did not drink a single coffee from the “hole” in Varna, but this does not prevent his opponents from manipulating people with outright lies.

I invite the Municipal Council to an extended session at the Fair. Let them see what has been done and then give assessments whether Georgi Gergov managed during these years, whether he robbed or built, repaired, paid salaries and taxes instead of the other shareholders”, concluded Gergov.
