Chinese portable gaming PC manufacturer GPD recently announced a 2024 updated version of its Win Mini, powered by AMD Ryzen 8000 series APUs. The latest Win Mini 2024 can be equipped with Ryzen 7 8840U or Ryzen 5 8640U processor, with up to 8 Zen4 cores, which means games and other tasks will be faster and more powerful. The addition of AMD XDNA artificial intelligence technology will help improve computing performance.
One of the major improvements in the updated version of Win Mini is the display screen. The new machine is equipped with a 7-inch LTPS screen with 1080p resolution. In addition to a 120Hz refresh rate, it also supports FreeSync Premium and VRR variable refresh rate. This touch screen is based on Gorilla Glass 6 reinforced glass protection. Another selling point is that the performance of PlayStation 3 game simulation has been improved. Due to the support of AVX-512 commands, the frame rate is expected to reach 60 FPS.

Unfortunately, GPD Win Mini 2024 has canceled the OCuLink interface used to connect external GPUs in the previous generation. Users in need now need to use USB4 connection instead. As before, Win Mini 2024 will be launched through the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo. The basic version equipped with Ryzen 7 8840U processor, 32 GB RAM and 512 GB storage is priced at US$879 (approximately HK$6,882), while the 2TB SSD storage The version is priced at US$999 (approximately HK$7,821). The price of the Ryzen 5 8640U processor has not yet been disclosed.
