Hollywood Actor Mark Dodson, Known for ‘Star Wars’ and ‘Gremlins’ Voices, Dies at 64 in Evansville

Renowned actor Mark Dodson, 64, who provided voice in several iconic films such as ‘Gremlins’ and ‘Star Wars’, died suddenly while settling in to attend an event.

The actor’s daughter, Ciara Dodson, explained to TMZ that her father “died while he was in Evansville, Indiana, to attend Horror Con,” a famous event where various fans of horror series, movies and comics meet.

He stated the cause of death as a massive heart attack while he was sleeping in a hotel.

“He never stopped making me feel proud,” said his daughter, highlighting the legacy that the actor left and that will continue with her and her grandchildren.

Great voice actor

Mark Dodson, born in 1960, was a Hollywood veteran whose distinctive voice gave life to some of the most endearing characters in film history.

In 1984 he played a character in the film ‘Gremlins’, following Mogwai. A year earlier, he lent his voice to Salacious Crumb, the tiny, high-pitched creature who accompanied Jabba the Hutt in ‘Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.’

Later, he consolidated his reputation thanks to his work as a voice actor, contributing his skills to both animated films and live-action productions.
