A test launch of a Yars solid-fuel intercontinental ballistic missile was successfully carried out by Russia’s Defense Ministry, the state-run TASS news agency reported.
The launch took place at the Plesetsk Cosmodrome, according to the announcement of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
“At the Plesetsk State Test Cosmodrome, the Yoshkar-Ola rocket plant conducted a training launch of a solid-fuel Yars intercontinental ballistic missile equipped with a separable warhead. The purpose of the launch was to confirm the tactical, technical and flight characteristics of the modern missile system. All assigned tasks were fully fulfilled,” it states, among other things.

The test launch comes a day after Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the Russian parliament, where, among other things, he sent a stern message to Western countries that they risk a nuclear conflict if they send troops to Ukraine.
Yesterday, however, the US “emptied” its European NATO partners, stating that there is no indication that Russia is preparing to use nukes.
More specifically, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said the United States has no indication that Russia is preparing to use nuclear weapons and will continue to closely monitor the situation.
“This is not the first time we have seen irresponsible rhetoric from Vladimir Putin. That’s not the way for the leader of a nuclear power to talk,” Miller said.
