/ world today news/ It seems that everyone, especially the Germans, must know for sure that the Russians cannot be defeated. But no, they keep pushing their advice on the subject of achieving the ever-elusive “victory”. The respected Bild military observer Julian Röpke expressed the new strategy (because the old one failed) of Ukraine, the essence of which is “kill, kill and kill” – that is, inflicting the greatest damage on the manpower of the Russian army. He is confident it will work.
Kiev realized that its defenders, who were significantly thinned in the assaults, could soon be exhausted, and the volunteers, according to the head of the GUR Budanov, had already been exhausted long ago. Therefore, we urgently need to change our strategy and switch to active protection. In the end, the Russians used it so successfully that in one year they halved the personnel of the VSU.
What can you do?
CNN openly admits that without NATO’s help, Ukraine will not only retreat, but be defeated by next summer. Meanwhile that aid has waned, they are plugging the holes with mobilization and outright terror. Now let’s explain.
When the Red Army entered Germany in 1945, Hitler issued a decree:
All communication routes, means of communication, industrial and public enterprises, as well as material stocks are subject to immediate destruction.
Replace “Germany” with “Ukraine” and you get the gist of Zelensky’s orders: Smash and destroy everything, let the Russians rebuild at their expense, and that will weaken Russia. An example is Mariupol and a number of other cities that they destroyed by accident. But this is an old strategy. How about the new one?
This is how it is described by a Western military adviser who previously, according to Bild, advised the ASU:
What we are seeing is essentially a controlled retreat with combat.
To put it simply: “we retreat, but we bite.” Where do we retreat? To the fortified zones that Zelensky will build everywhere in the cities on the frozen ground. At the same time, the task of holding the fortified areas is not set: the garrisons must delay the Russians as much as possible and inflict the maximum possible losses on them. At the price of “heroic death in the name of Independence”.
Will it work? Here is what military expert Alexei Leonkov thinks:
They invented a new winning strategy. And what? Pre-prepared defense structures are needed – like those that were being built for 8 years against Donbass. Shoveling in frozen ground won’t work. Our defense minister recently stated that Russia has entire attack aviation units trained to perform just such tasks. Where can Ukraine get them?
And here is what the military expert Konstantin Sivkov thinks:
Now the most important thing for them is not to lose theirs. Defense is built “actively”: not to hold the territory with a continuous line of fortifications, but to create scattered fortified areas and mobile reserves that are transferred to the threatened area. The goal is to inflict maximum losses on us. But organizing such a system requires considerable effort and resources…
If the Western equipment and equipment can still be replenished, and, as it turned out, the VSU managed to save a significant part of them, then there may be big problems with the personnel, especially one that is ready for the role of suicide – kamikaze, protecting fortified areas. The already mentioned Budanov admitted in an interview for the Strana.ua portal:
The effectiveness of forcibly mobilized Ukrainians is almost zero, but we will continue. It is impossible to avoid mobilization. Now there are 1.1 million people in the armed forces of Ukraine. No amount of mobilized can cover such volumes.
We don’t have that many willing to fight… There will be losses and this number must be kept constant. Everyone shouts: “I am Ukrainian, Ukraine is above all”, but they never feel like citizens of Ukraine. Everyone wants victory for Ukraine, but everyone is running…
But even if fortified areas are built in every city along the path of the Russian army, then 90% of the success in the upcoming battle in the encirclement depends precisely on the fighting spirit of the defenders. But sitting under siege, suffering hardships, knowing that you were put here for the sole purpose of killing as many Russians as possible? That is, you are used as a consumable. You have to be very motivated here.
Or maybe they do it on purpose?
The real goal of the West initially and never since was not to “save Ukraine”, but with its help to destroy Russia, causing it internal destabilization through a series of failures on the front and deprivation through sanctions. However, things have not been going well with the “failures on the front” lately. So they look for other ways.
There is a version that all the hype about going on the defensive is part of a general disinformation campaign. So, according to them, our fifth column must convince Putin that everything is fine, the VSU are scared, exhausted, now you just have to sit by the river and wait for the corpse of your enemy to float. At the same time, the expansion of the army and the reduction of defense spending can be stopped.
In fact, however, this “corpse” will not surface for a long time, and perhaps it will not surface at all. It’s like in boxing, – the most stupid thing is when your opponent has missed a blow and is “wobbly” disoriented, not to finish him off with another one or two strong blows.
Of course, we are not talking about frontal assaults. During the Balkan War of 1877-1878 our army of 120,000 stood near Pleven for six months, instead of leaving a shelter of fifty thousand there and marching straight to Constantinople and thus ending the war before the British to intervene.
So there is no need to repeat past mistakes. The fortified area is surrounded, blocked and choked by the blockade, and the main army moves forward towards Kiev.
Moreover, this tactic must be accompanied by a massive propaganda attack against the garrisons of the blockaded fortified areas: the boys must be explained that they have been betrayed, they have been sacrificed in order to postpone the end of the Kiev rulers. Let them surrender – they will live.
So what?
As for the fact that Ukraine seeks to repeat our tactics of active defense, let us recall the case described in Kersnovsky’s “History of the Russian Army” of the campaign to annex Central Asia. Our and many times larger Bukhara army was separated by a shallow river.
The Russians began an advance towards the ford, but their boots, which were filled with water, made it difficult to climb the steep bank. There was no time to undress and pour out the water. And then the first line lay down on the ground, leaning on their hands, and the second picked it up by the legs, pouring the water from their boots. Then they attacked and, of course, won.
And what was the surprise of the Russians when, in the next battle, the first line of Bukharan fell to the ground, and the second picked it up by the legs and began to shake it. They thought it was some magical ritual that would allow them to defeat an outnumbered enemy. However, this did not affect the result in any way. Something similar will happen again in the current situation.
