Surprise! What did Rod Stewart do at 79 – 2024-03-03 11:50:42

Nobody and nothing can stop Rod Stewart, who at 79 is doing his 200th show in Las Vegas, embarking on a world tour and releasing a new album, reports the Associated Press, quoted by Dir.bg. “Swing Fever” features timeless tunes like “Pennies From Heaven,” “Lullaby of Broadway” and “Sentimental Journey.” Songs like “Ain’t Misbehavin” and “Pennies from Heaven” come to life through Stewart’s still powerful voice, a testament to his timeless talent. Jools Holland also participated in the tray, and the only condition for him was that he should not perform slow pieces, but only cheerful ones, “which we need in our dark times”. However, Holland, who began his career with the band Squeeze in the 1980s, believes there is no way to change the paradigm. “The Beatles are to blame. After them, everyone thought they could write songs,” Holland said.

Rod Stewart, who was recently in New York to watch his favorite football team Celtic take on Hibernian, answered a few questions from The Associated Press about making music, being young and being afraid of death.

“The songs from my new album make people tap their feet, smile. Both Holland and I were brought up with this music. It was no accident that I told Jules that we need optimism. I love to record. Jules was a joy to work with. We have had no arguments and fights, pure pleasure. We had 18 people crammed into Jules’ studio, so all the solos were played live. I’ve always found songwriting a bit of an agony. It’s like going back to school. When I was in Faces, they locked me in a hotel room with a bottle of wine and said, “You’re not coming out until you finish it.” I wanted to go out and have fun. I didn’t want to write lyrics. It was always a bit like pulling a tooth. For the new album, I didn’t write any of the songs, but I was very ambitious to sing them.”

Rod Stewart returns to his youth when female fans are crazy about the boys from ‘Faces’. “I didn’t think either of us looked good. I still don’t think so. But we had some magical appeal to women. It was great fun. And now most things are part of aging. My thoughts right now are with our king who has some kind of cancer. But I promised myself to always play soccer and I still do with my kids. I keep fit, watch my weight, though I’m not obsessed. I’m not afraid of death. I feel absolutely privileged to be doing what I’m doing.”
