The ceremony of raising the National Flag of the Republic of Bulgaria was held in front of the monument to the Unknown Warrior in the capital. Representative formations of the National Guard unit and the Guard Representative Brass Band participate in it.
During the ceremony, during the performance of the national anthem, a twenty-gun salute was fired. Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov congratulated the Guardsmen.
On the occasion of the National Day, at 12:00 p.m., a ceremonial changing of the guard of honor will take place in front of the President’s Administration building.
From 6:30 p.m., a solemn inspection (dawn) will take place on the “People’s Assembly” square. It will be attended by the Guard’s representative brass band and representative units of the National Guard unit, as well as military personnel from the Joint Forces Command. The commander of the solemn inspection will be Brigadier General Dimitar Khlebarov – commander of the Command for Communication and Information Support and Cyber Defense. President Rumen Radev will deliver a speech, and the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Prime Minister and MPs will also be present at the dawn.
In line will be the holy flags, a symbol of the most exalted traditions and virtues of the Bulgarian military, reminding of the heroic feat of the Bulgarian army: Samara flag, Flag of the 23rd Shipchen Infantry Regiment, Flag of the 15th Lom Infantry Regiment, Flag of the 13th Infantry Rila Regiment, Flag of the 25th Infantry Dragoman Regiment, Flag of the 30th Infantry Sheynovsky Regiment, Flag of the Gornooryakhov Rebels, Flag of the 24th Infantry Black Sea Regiment, reported the Ministry of Defense.
