A day before the national holiday, March 3, unknown persons placed Russian flags on the pillars of Tsarigradsko shose Blvd. in Sofia.
The capital’s mayor, Vasil Terziev, ordered them to be removed immediately.
We learned about the case from his post on his Facebook profile. In the footage distributed by him, two flags can be seen – Bulgarian and Russian.
“We received a report about Russian flags placed on poles on the “Tsarigradsko Shosse”. The teams of the Security Service responded to the reports immediately and began their removal. The inspection continues along the Southern Arc”wrote the capital’s mayor.
He pointed out that the CCTV footage is being checked to find out the facts and the perpetrators and take appropriate action.
Vasil Terziev calls on citizens to report any observed violations to the contact center of the Metropolitan Municipality.
A few days ago, there was also a provocateur in Plovdiv, where a billboard dedicated to Ukraine was torn down.
The prosecutor’s office ordered an investigation into the case, but there is no information that there have been any arrests, although the offenders can clearly be seen on videos distributed on social networks.
