WHY SEX EDUCATION?
Love, friendship and sexuality are always popular topics among young people. The media (TV, Internet) offer a huge range of information, but this is often contradictory and often characterized by sexual superlatives. This leads to uncertainty and raises questions. We offer a trusting environment in which questions, problems and wishes can be discussed openly.
The content of the events is based on the needs and questions of the participants.
Sex education is an important part of the upbringing of children and young people. It not only has a preventive function (with regard to unwanted pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases, sexual violence). Their main aim is to create a pleasurable access to one’s own sexuality, to convey sexuality in all its sensuality and diversity and to accompany young people on the path of their own search movements.
The sex educators at pro familia deal with topics relating to love, sex and relationships with professional competence, liveliness and empathy.
The events are usually led by a woman and a man. Sexuality is thus presented from both perspectives with similarities and differences. In addition, the woman-man team enables the division into groups of pure girls and boys and thus a stress-free exchange of information (without a “cool mask”, without fear of competition, pressure to profile and feelings of shame towards the opposite sex).
Depending on the target group and the time frame, playful elements can also be used to address the emotional level and physical experience.
