Amanda Lind is the third environmentalist to openly run for the role of spokesperson, something that Expressen was the first to report on.
In the past, economic policy spokesperson Janine Alm Ericson and Annika Hirvonen, first deputy group leader for MP in the Riksdag, have expressed interest. Annika Hirvonen announced her candidacy yesterday.
– There are fantastic candidates who have applied. Now I look forward to the dialogue with the members, says Amanda Lind to SVT.
Criticism of the work environment
The Green Party has been forced to deal with several crises recently. MP spokeswoman Märta Stenevi’s resignation and the criticism of the party’s poor work environment have shaken up the members. At the same time, it suffers from falling confidence figures.
Now “work peace” is needed, says Amanda Lind (MP).
– We need to focus on advancing our policy with confidence, not least in the area of climate and environment. We must do it together with a strong policy for justice and welfare.
Was criticized in the role of Minister of Culture
Amanda Lind herself has been criticized, not least in her role as culture minister during the corona pandemic.
– I have been in situations where it is stormy and that is not a reason to give up, on the contrary. On the other hand, there is a problem with the high tone in politics and the threats and hatred that not least female politicians suffer from. We have to counteract that, she says.
The party will choose Stenevis’ successor on April 28.
