The president of the Republic, Daniel Noboain expressed for an interview with the international network CNN who is ready for his re-election facing the next year’s elections. The important thing to highlight is that he specified that he will comply with the law and will entrust the Presidency to Veronica Abadwho is currently vice president of the Republic and serves as ambassador to Israel.
He said that the second president is in Tel Aviv and that she has to report to Chancellery. “I will continue to be the Head of state and until you legally have to give up the presidency to a vice president, I will do that. It will be when the campaign starts, a month before the elections,” Noboa highlighted.

According to the rule, if Daniel Noboa runs for the 2025 presidential elections and decides to campaign 100%, he will have to entrust the presidency to Verónica Abad. This is what the Constitution says in its article 146.
