(Elbil24): A Tesla Cybertruck was recently sold at Manheim Auctions in the USA recently. The car was a Founder Series, and the car eventually went for $244,000, which is more than double the price of what it costs new over there, reports Automotive News.
In the final phase there were again three bidders – all three car dealers – and in the end it was Porsche South Orlando who ran away with the victory, if you can say so. The auction was streamed live online.
The price of such a Founder Series should be just over 102,000 dollars, and the price was thus well over doubled. Here it was probably availability that won, mixed with a large portion of desire and will. It’s simply not just a matter of snapping your fingers, and you get hold of a Cybertruck.
What can the new Renault Scenic do in minus 18?
Elbil24 has been in both Los Angeles and San Francisco in the past month, and in both places we have spotted the Cybertruck randomly on the streets, but for now there are not many of the distinctive pickup truck on the road. There is now speculation as to whether the Porsche dealer has bought it to make money from it, or simply to use it as an attraction for its own shop. Few doubt that they will be able to resell it, because in the US there are plenty of high-profile customers who have both the money and the will to buy the car – even after Porsche South Orlando has made a further profit.

Then it remains to be seen whether Tesla intends to make good on its own threats to the first owners, because by buying one of the first produced cars you must enter into a clause not to resell the car with the intention of making money from it – that is to flip it.
In that case, you can be punished with a “fine” of 50,000 dollars, or more, from Tesla itself. Ford has tried similar conditions, but in their case the house of cards collapsed on its own, as there was not enough demand for the F-150 Lightning.
Then it remains to be seen whether Tesla actually hires lawyers on the case or not.
