However, before being launched in the United States, franchisees also considered naming it “Noble” or “Blue Ribbon Burger”, and finally decided to “Big Mac” stood out, and the reason for the choice was revealed.
McDonald’s said that when it launched the Big Mac in 1967, it considered two other names before it was about to go on the market, namely “Aristocrat” and “Blue Ribbon burger”. However, franchisees believed that if it was used The two naming of burgers obviously felt unintuitive and unable to convey the essence of the product. In the end, the catchy “Big Mac” stood out.
McDonald’s came to Taiwan in 1984, and Big Mac was originally named “McChop”. It was not changed to “Big Mac” until 2005. McDonald’s Taiwan pointed out that Big Mac has been the “forever No. 1 meal” since it debuted in 1984, and the “McCrazy” formula related to it was once popular across Taiwan, “Double-layer pure beef, unique sauce and lettuce, Top it with churros, onions, pickles, and sesame seed bread. McDonald’s officially celebrates its 40th anniversary in Taiwan in 2024. Talking about future plans, Amanda Huang, vice president of McDonald’s Restaurant Development Group, said, “McDonald’s continues to replace old ones with new ones.
