43 kilos of drugs in suitcases at Larnaca airport

A large amount of narcotics was found yesterday in two travel suitcases, which remained unclaimed at Larnaca airport.

In a statement by the Police, it is stated that “42 kg and 950 grams of a plant substance called cathine, which is included in the list of narcotic substances, were found in the two pieces of luggage.”

It is noted that “the two pieces of luggage had arrived at Larnaca airport, from a foreign country, on February 25, 2024, without being picked up by any person. Yesterday during the process of their return, to their country of origin, the suitcases were searched by members of the Customs Department, as a result of which the drugs were detected.”

The seized drugs were handed over to the Provincial Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Larnaca, which is investigating the case.
