Drug Operations in Famagusta and Kyrenia

During the operations carried out in Famagusta on 29 February 2024 and in Kyrenia on 1 March 2024, two separate individuals were arrested on suspicion of illegal drug possession. Details are as follows:

Operation Famagusta:

Narcotics and Smuggling Prevention Directorate Teams carried out a search at the residence of ZBE (E-39) in Famagusta at around 16:00 on February 29, 2024. During the search, approximately 10 grams of a substance believed to be jute-type narcotic was seized at the location where ZBE was found. In addition, a burnt-tipped rolled cigarette and a handmade glass pipe, believed to contain jute-type narcotics mixed with tobacco, were also taken as evidence. ZBE was arrested and the investigation is ongoing.

Kyrenia Operation:

On March 1, 2024, at around 01:00, a search was carried out in Zeytinlik, by the CÖŞ Teams affiliated with the Kyrenia Police Department, at the residence of the person named BOK (E-24). During the search, 5 butts believed to contain drugs were detected in BOK’s house and were taken as evidence. BOK was arrested and the investigation continues.

Both operations were carried out meticulously by the Narcotics and Smuggling Prevention Directorate teams, and legal processes are continuing within the scope of the fight against drugs.
