BVFor the first time in six months, Elke Vanelderen (45) shows a sign of life on Instagram. She had dinner on Thursday evening with some well-known Limburg friends, including Hanne Troonbeeckx (45), Anke Buckinkx (43) and Virginie Claes (41). In the comments below the post, the former VTM announcer receives a lot of support from friends and fans: “We were there for you these days,” among other things.
“Had a nice chat,” Elke writes in a group selfie with some famous friends. They are all together in a WhatsApp group called ‘Limburgse Gezelligheid’, and get together for dinner several times a year. “Then we left for hours of chatter. About everything we hold dear,” Hanne Troonbeeckx explains. She posted the same photo and is therefore also in the circle of friends, together with Anke Buckinx, Virginie Claes, Annemie Ramaekers, Elisa Guarraci, Griet Vanhees and Cynthia Reekmans. The last two were not there on Thursday evening.
“But what is even better is the bond we have built up over the years,” Troonbeeckx continues. “Just look at them: 8 women (2 couldn’t be there today) who are sweet, sincere, pure, funny and empathetic to and with each other.” To which Elke responds: “Can’t say it better… Behind every strong woman, there are strong ladies. That’s how it is.”

It is Elke’s first post on Instagram since October, and it is noticeable that she receives a lot of love and support in the comments. From the group’s friends, who post hearts and kiss emojis, but also from fans. “Oh Elke, with all that Regi stuff, I’ve been thinking about you a lot, even though I don’t know you personally… Cheer up,” someone responds. And: “We were there for you these days!!!”. Everyone thanks them with their hearts for the kind words.

The followers are referring to the wedding of Elke’s ex-husband Regi Penxten, who tied the knot with Kristel again on Tuesday in South Africa. The ceremony and party were broadcast live on VTM 2, and the run-up to the wedding could also be followed on TV. Many viewers noticed how the popular DJ made no reference to his ex-wife, who is also the mother of his two children. “As if that period in his life had not happened,” he said indignantly on social media. However, Elke himself never responded to those comments. “For the sake of the well-being of our daughters,” she told us.
