During the Serie A meeting between Sassuolo and Napoli, odd scenes unfolded at the Mapei Stadium. The game was halted a couple of minutes into the middle of the first half – after Sassuolo keeper Andrea Consigli dived into his own goal and thereby managed to get a piece of the net to come loose at the crossbar.

Consigli basically tried to parry a long shot, which ended up going over the goal, and then the referee stopped play when it was noticed that the net had come off the crossbar. The goalkeeper was later helped by Napoli star Victor Osimhen, as well as by two officials, in fixing the goal.

After that, the game – after a couple of minutes – could start again.

Napoli were leading 2-1 at the break, and later Osimhen completed a hat-trick to make it 4-1. At the same time, Chvitja Kvaratskhelia did not want to be worse and then accounted for two goals to win by a whopping 6-1.

Napoli is in ninth place, while Sassuolo is in 18th place in Serie A.
