For some time, Damir led a series of five victories in a row in the UFC and even entered the top 15. But regular injuries prevented the former M1-Global champion from fully participating in the championship race.
Due to problems with the body, Ismagulov unsuccessfully prepared for the fights against Arman Tsarukyan and Grant Dawson and lost on points with virtually no chance, having not found an antidote to their struggle. Moreover, Tsarukyan and Dawson did not just rely on fighting in the fight with Ismagulov. The fact is that Damir is a master of sports in hand-to-hand combat, who fights very competently in a standing position and easily kills all his opponents.
Vartanyan approaches the fight in a much better moral state and with great motivation. Firstly, he recently became the winner of the ACA Grand Prix and continues to go on a streak of four early victories. Yes, Eduard did not manage to get into the UFC, but he had the opportunity to test himself against a UFC-level fighter – against Ismagulov – and prove that the global league was wrong.
