Brazilian soccer mascot is denounced for sexual harassment – 2024-02-29 18:09:17

On the afternoon of this Sunday, February 25, a new edition of the Porto Alegre classic was played between Inter and Gremio, a rivalry considered by soccer specialists to be one of the most important in Brazil and all of Latin America.

The honors of the match went to the local team, Inter, with a close score of 3 goals to 2. However, the victory of those led by Argentine Eduardo “Chacho” Coudet apparently took a backseat after the journalist in favor of the Gremio, Gisele Kümpel, will denounce an alleged sexual abuse caused by the rival mascot, Saci.

Stories of the complaint

The communicator shared what happened on the social network, X: “The match ended in a complaint for me. Sexual harassment by the mascot of @SCInternacional. Another day of women wanting to do their job in football and suffering for it with idiots who are criminals. She stopped next to me and just hugged me, hugged me. Even with the mask on, she pushed my head and tried to kiss me. I could hear the sound of the kiss and I felt her sweat,” Kümpel said.

The event would have happened when Inter broke the tie and scored the winning and agonizing goal through a penalty converted by Alan Patrick in the 90+8. At the end of the meeting, Kümpel registered the complaint at the Beira-Rio Civil Police station.

This same Monday, February 26, the authorities sent a request to Inter to obtain collaboration through the internal images recorded by the stadium cameras, also demanding the identification of the person disguised as a mascot.

Inter de Porto Alegre assured that “images of its circuit will be made available.”
follow-up to clarify the cases. Both the incidents of chair throwing by visiting fans and the complaint recorded by a press. “The professional (the mascot) will be supervised by the club to take the appropriate measures.”
