Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi Attends MWC 2024 in Barcelona: Supports Indonesia’s Mobile Telecommunications Industry

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi attended the world’s largest telecommunications exhibition, Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona, ​​Spain.

This exhibition will take place from 26 to 29 February 2024. During his visit, the Minister of Communication and Information said that MWC is a world event that brings together global cellular communications industry players, device manufacturers, technology providers, vendors, content owners and communities who are enthusiastic about human technology.

“By participating in MWC 2024, the government is supporting players in the country’s mobile telecommunications industry so they can move forward and establish mutually beneficial cooperation with global business players,” said Budi Arie Setiadi, quoted from an official statement, Thursday (29/2/2024).

Apart from visiting the exhibition, Budi Arie will also attend the Roundtable Session with the theme “Resilient Connectivity for Island Countries”.

Budi Arie Setiadi is also scheduled to hold an audience and dinner with the diaspora in Barcelona, ​​including another meeting with the Secretary General of ITU and the Director of the Radio Communications Bureau (BR).

Furthermore, the Minister of Communication and Information will launch Telkom University’s Metaverse Research & Experience Center (MREC) at MWC 2024.

Budi Arie Setiadi hopes that Indonesia can participate by opening a special booth for Indonesia at the annual MWC trade exhibition next year.

“There have been discussions with several Director Generals. We hope that Indonesia can participate in next year’s MWC event. We plan that next year there will be an Indonesian booth,” said Budi Arie Setiadi.
