Don’t worry: Apple accounts, like the authentication system itself, are here to stay. Only the name will change.
MacRumors and a number of other foreign media write about the upcoming rebranding of Apple products. The Apple brand is going to abolish the Apple ID and instead introduce a new name for the authentication system – Apple Account.
Let us remind you: Apple ID is an account for access to all company services, including the iTunes Store, App Store and iCloud. It ensures smooth interaction between various Apple devices.
The source claims that the new Apple account name could be introduced as early as this year. It is possible that this will happen simultaneously with the release of iOS 18 (codenamed Crystal) and macOS 15 (codenamed Glow).
Please note: for now, all experiments with the name are discussed at the level of rumors. Whether they will be confirmed depends on the company’s actions in the future. Why Apple is thinking about rebranding within products is not specified.
Earlier, insiders spoke about the features of the new version of Apple OS. Looks like we’re in for a major redesign. Settings, menus, control center and other elements of the iOS 18 interface will look different and may begin to resemble the visionOS style.
