Top fashion designers took to the runway to emphasize the positive role that fashion can play, while acknowledging – but not specifically – the increasing turmoil the world is facing.
Backstage, after her collection’s fashion show ended, Miuccia Prada said the starting point for her and co-founder Raf Simons was “the innate need for love and goodness… especially at a time like this.”
During a preview held in her office in the city, Donatella Versace expressed the same sentiment, saying: “We live in the world we live in today, and we need the courage to move forward, and fashion is a means of positivity and togetherness.”

Giorgio Armani agrees with her, saying: “We do not change the world, and we cannot solve the world’s problems, but we can give people a moment of lightness.”
Matteo Blazzi of Bottega Veneta was the most direct when he said: “In a world that is burning, there is a very human element to just getting dressed… We are all watching the same news. It is difficult to be celebratory at this stage. However, the idea of birth The new one is beautiful too.”
This feeling was clearly echoed throughout the collections presented in what might be called “Franken patterns”, that is, mixing one part of one thing with another, and stitching them together to become a hybrid piece of clothing.

At the Prada show, what looked like a cardigan in the front had a satin bodice in the back, while the skirts were a combination of an apron and a sheer nightgown.
At the Bottega Veneta fashion show, “compact and compressed” designs from different eras and tight dresses with pins appeared, while at the show of the Italian fashion brand “MSGM”, Massimo Giorgetti had zippers wrapped around the body like stitches that connect every detail together, as if To collapse at any moment.
The theme of twisted pieces played a role in the fashions shown in the Ferragamo, Fendi, and Prada collections, which heralded the development of a piece that combines a sweater and a blouse.

Aside from the black leather shoes that dominated most of the collections, the shoe of the season was the fully decorated shoe. At the Jil Sander show, the high-heeled shoes were covered in black goat hair. At the Tod’s show, new creative director Matteo Tamburini gave the Gommino shoe an aesthetic touch by adding leather fringes that completely covered it.

Although the 1980s was a decade that people preferred to forget about fashion, it seems that it is slowly making a comeback. Donatella Versace brought back the jacket she designed for musician Prince from that era, and said it was “a piece that would make him look taller.”
