The Salvadoran karate fighter Helen Galán became the queen of the XXIX Central American Karate Championship (CCONDEKA 2024) that took place in the Cuna del Mágico, in the Jorge “El Mágico” González national stadium, by being crowned with four gold medals and a bronze, which made her not only the most outstanding athlete in the blue and white but also in the regional championship.
“I feel satisfied with what I have achieved. On the first day of competition I added a gold and a bronze, as a senior I managed to take first place in each presentation I did. I have given my one hundred percent this year, I have started very well in katas, thanks to the effort made in previous years,” she mentioned.
In the senior event, the karate fighter won gold medals in individual kata, team kata and individual kumite in the -50kg category; In the under-21 she won a gold and in individual kata and a bronze in individual kumite in the -50 kg category.
