Israeli attacks continued today focused on the cities of Gaza, Rafah and Khan Yunis, where numerous Palestinian deaths and injuries were reported.
In their most recent report on the situation, the territory’s health authorities indicated that 96 citizens lost their lives and 172 were injured in the last 24 hours.
The Army blew up several homes west of Khan Yunis, while artillery bombed various areas of that city, the epicenter of a ground offensive for weeks, the official Wafa news agency reported.
In Gaza, clashes continued between Hamas militiamen and soldiers, who are trying to enter the center of the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, located southwest of the metropolis.
Meanwhile, the humanitarian crisis in the territory is worsened by the Israeli blockade and attacks.
According to the UN Population Fund, at Al-Helal Al-Emairati Maternity Hospital in Rafah, newborns die because mothers cannot receive prenatal or postnatal care.
For its part, Al Jazeera television reported that a two-year-old boy named Khaled died after eating bread made with animal feed in the north of the Strip.
The lack of food is more serious in the northern part of the enclave due to the difficulties imposed by soldiers on humanitarian organizations to transport aid convoys from the south.
Since the beginning of the current cycle of violence, on October 7, more than 29,800 Palestinians have died in the Strip and another 70,200 have been injured.
