With Thursday’s cabinet meeting and the measures that are expected to be presented to deal with the illegal Greekization of agricultural products and the interventions to deal with profiteering, Kyriakos Mitsotakis is attempting a turn to the cutting edge issues of everyday life, with the big bet remaining their effectiveness.
The main challenge for the government in the near future is the practical relief of large groups of citizens from the burden of accuracy, with the combined implementation of the measures that are expected to be presented at the ministerial meeting by the Minister of Development Kostas Skrekas and those that have already been announced, in combination with the increase in the minimum wage from the beginning of April.
The agricultural front is open
At the same time, however, the agricultural front remains open, in which a gradual appeasement is being attempted, including what is expected to be announced at the cabinet meeting by Lefteris Avgenakis regarding the illegal Greekizations. At the same time, the government is starting to promote, in view of the European elections, the agenda of changing the CAP, which it declares that it will claim, together with other European governments.
The crucial element, however, remains the restoration of damages and the reconstruction of agricultural production and animal husbandry in Thessaly. In this light, at Megaros Maximos they are reviewing their plans in view of the Prime Minister’s new meeting with the farmers on March 11.
According to government sources, by then it is expected that the study of the Dutch company, which undertook the development of the plan for the utilization of the water resources of the region, will have been presented.
