Many questions arise from the developments of recent years and concern our daily life and what results from the relationship between Athens and Brussels.
The EU is plagued by poverty, social injustice, shrinking social and democratic rights, the rise of racism and the far right, internal conflicts and diverging interests of powerful states, the ever-widening gap between powerful and less developed states .
Especially for Greece and the Greek people, the experience of joining the EU turned out to be painful. In these conditions, the question is raised: “Is there an alternative path?” Can Greece leave the EU?”
The reasonable discussion will continue from the pages of the book to the presentation of the volume “Can Greece leave the European Union?” by Topos publications and the Group of Marxist Researches edited by Professor Dimitris Kaltsonis, which will take place in the S. Karagiorgas II amphitheater, at Panteion University (136 Syggrou Ave.), on Thursday, February 29 at 7:30 p.m.
They will talk:
* Yannis Vavouras, o.m. professor of Economic Policy, former rector of Pantei University
* Thanassis Alexiou, professor of Sociology at the University of the Aegean
* Giorgos Kapopoulos, journalist
* Dimitris Kaltsonis, professor of State Theory and Law at Panteion University and editor of the book.
It is moderated by journalist Thanasis Karabatsos
