The performance has ended in the Francisco Nieva Room of the Valle Inclán Theater. It was a very exciting season for the artistic team and the spectators who entered into an unpublished performance, signed, co-interpreted and directed by Despeyroux, the exotic French-speaking surname of a theater woman born in Uruguay and naturalized Spanish, with a long time offering her efforts and talents in Spain. The process of melting down her dreams, frustrations, fears and audacity was very gratifying for me. A reunion with important acting figures and of course with Denise, whom he had not visited for some time in her theatrical home or in any other. Leaving testimony of his adventure was another adventure, hence, after the published criticism of the show, I now present its publication in another magnificent edition of the National Dramatic Center (CDN) with which it allows the production of a new function, since the reading of the Theater has that vigorous charm of turning the reader into one of the artists who actively participate in the production: whoever reads becomes a performer, author, director, in any order; If he saw the piece performed, he reconstructs it at will, and if he could not see it, even if he is in a distant country, what a spree! Since he also adds and removes sets, lights, costumes… all the theater in the world is concentrated in one formidable imaginative display.
SYNOPSIS. The playwright Darío Duarte faces his first premiere in the large room of the CDN. Son of Uruguayan exile, while living with two sisters as dysfunctional as him and a failed friend, he considers practicing autofiction for the first time to talk about the trip that, at the age of five, allowed him to meet his father in prison. The problem is that he doesn’t remember anything. His admirer Sergio Blanco recommends that he talk to Denise Despeyroux. But what does an old-fashioned playwright with philosophical pretensions that Darío is not interested in have to do with all this?

…an extraordinary spectacle of pain and absence, interspersed with effective touches of self-parody, all focused on various conflicts of that identity that is lost between real and invisible borders. It suggests reflection on Galdós’s work, in the same way as many others, since the development in two and a quarter hours abounds in lights and shadows loaded with questions with and without answers; conflicts between siblings and friends who try to navigate lives they consider frustrated: theater people, a psychoanalyst fascinated by the Hebrew Kabbalah, a very young 36-year-old girl who creates video games… they intertwine actions and quiet emotions to silence dark interior storms. Each one has their ghost ship and the function expresses it through their personal interests, their very personal contact with various rituals…
