Maya Manolova: thanks to our report, the KEVR decision on the 60% water increase in Burgas will go to court – 2024-02-28 06:02:05

/ world today news/ The suffering expertise of the mothers from The System is Killing Us, part of the lists of Get Up Bulgaria, is the basis of their decision to get involved in politics

On September 13, 2022, at a meeting with sympathizers and the media in Burgas, the leader of Stand Up Bulgaria, Maya Manolova, presented the leader of the party’s list in the district – Dobromira Polimenova, a representative of mothers from The System is Killing Us – a civil quota in the lists of Stand Up Bulgaria . “For more than 10 years, the system not only does not help, but works against these fighting women,” Manolova said. She emphasized that the people on the lists of Stand Up Bulgaria are strong individuals with clear causes.
At the meeting, the formation’s rescue plan was presented, consisting of five key elements that will enable Bulgarian citizens and small businesses to get through the difficult winter that is emerging as a result of the incompetence and corruption schemes of the last administrations.
First of all, Stand Up Bulgaria asked for a ceiling on the prices of 8 basic food products from the small consumer basket, which will enable people not to starve in the winter. Fixing the price of gasoline and diesel at BGN 2.50 by decision of the National Assembly. The formation has already expressed an opinion and how this can happen. Maya Manolovo emphasized that for this reason the first of the actions in the Anti-Speculation campaign of Stand Up Bulgaria was in front of the Lukoil Neftohim refinery in Kameno and in Rosenets, and the whole scheme of the private company such as Litasco, through which more than BGN 3 billion is earned speculatively, has been exposed on the backs of Bulgarian citizens. “Due to expensive gasoline and diesel, inflation is rising and all goods are becoming more expensive,” added Manolova.
The “Don’t pay” campaign is key for PP Stand up Bulgaria, covering water, electricity and heating bills, debts to debt collectors and quick loans. Mrs. Manolova explained that with this campaign, the citizens of Sofia are called not to pay for heating until September 14, because the fraud with 20% VAT instead of 9% is against the interest of the people. Heating Burgas does not have this problem, because the bills are paid monthly.
The highlight of the meeting in Burgas was the problem with the drastic increase in the price of water, amounting to 60 percent, which is the largest increase in the price of water and is a direct blow to both the population and business, especially in the field of tourism. The signature and civil displeasure organized by Maya Manolova in front of Burgas Water and Sewerage led to a protest before the Court of Appeal by the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office, and at the moment there are real chances that the KEVR decision will most likely be overturned by the court. Manolova drew attention to the fact that the mayor of the city of Burgas and the mayors of settlements in the region, as well as the regional administration, who did not exert enough pressure to protect the interests of the people, have a sin against the people for the high water bills. .
Another important direction in the rescue plan is related to debt slavery – the formation is ready with the law on private bankruptcy, on collection companies, on limiting the superpowers of banks, on quick loans.
One of the points of the rescue plan of Stand Up Bulgaria is the increase of incomes. An increase in the minimum wage to BGN 1260, which is the cost of living, as well as a recalculation of pensions in relation to insurance income from 2021. With examples, the impossibility of people living normally on BGN 710 with inflation over 17%, which is two times higher than European and food inflation by 50%. “As taxes and insurances are paid, the funds for the people remain below BGN 540. This shows that most Bulgarians are working poor. We are equal in the prices of food, electricity, heating, gasoline, diesel with Europeans, but we are not equal in income. This is what we will change,” added the leader of Stand Up Bulgaria.
The social program of Stand Up Bulgaria was also presented, with an emphasis on the needs of parents raising their children independently, i.e. the people who in the crisis are raising their children with one salary. Included in this program are vouchers for babysitters, vouchers for repairs and support for children, free textbooks, incentives for working parents upon the birth of their first, second and third child in the amount of BGN 10,000.
The leader of the leaves in the city of Burgas, avd. Dobromira Polimenova, representative of the System Kills Us, also spoke about her personal cause aimed at families with sick children, children with special needs, as well as the disabled. She expressed confidence that it is the people who did not receive support from the system, even were thrown out of it, that should enter the parliament to improve the lives of ordinary people.
Maya Manolova expressed confidence that in the upcoming elections people will vote usefully, they will vote for the small parties that are close to themselves and their problems.
