The mourners gathered to say goodbye to Arne Hegerfors in the church.
– There is so much love and it has been written so beautifully. I want to thank you for everything. He leaves such a legacy, says Arne’s wife Kerstin Hegerfors, who arrived with her son Björn.
Among the guests are many profiles in the world of television and sports. Including Bosse Hansson, Mats Nyström, Agne Jälevik, Ulf Elving and Katarina Hultling.
– He was so lovely to be with. He was easy going, welcoming and at the same time so skilled. He became like a teacher in program management when I arrived, says Hultling, who met Arne on TV sport in 1985.
The tribute: “The athletes had the greatest respect”
– I am so happy to see such a powerful legacy. It testifies that Arne was not only a famous person, he was a recognized person in the broad folk laws. The athletes in Arne’s sports (mainly football and ice hockey) had the greatest respect for Arne. Because they knew that Arne knew what he was talking about. He was tailor-made for his profession, says presenter Fredrik Belfrage.
For several decades, Arne Hegerfors from Gothenburg was one of the most loved television personalities, mainly on SVT, Canal+ and Sveriges Radio.

– A warm-hearted, humorous person who was truly a Gothenburger. I really like Arne and we have worked a lot over the years. It means a little extra to be here today, says former great player and colleague Ralf Edström.
From 1969 to 1997 he worked as a commentator, presenter and reporter at SVT, and then worked at Canal+ until his retirement in 2012.
The friend: “Great for him”
Radar partner Anders “Ankan” Parmström about the friend:
– I think it is nice for him that he is where he is now. He didn’t feel well at the end. In the last five years we talked often on the phone. But they were always three people: Me, Kerstin and Arne. He didn’t really know the time and place then, but it went well. I really hope he’s doing well. A fantastic person, he says.
In recent years, Arne Hegerfors was plagued by serious illnesses such as stroke, heart attack and cancer.
At the end of last year, he was hospitalized for three weeks for covid-19 and heart failure.
In connection with that, the doctors found advanced cancer that could not be cured.
After that, he received palliative care at home in the apartment in central Stockholm.
The immediate family was there when Arne Hegerfors calmly took his last breaths.
